Telus She CAN Coach Program

We're proud to announce that we're participating in the Canada Soccer Telus She CAN Coach program again in 2026! To express your interest in participating in the program, please complete this FORM. Please email Danielle at marketing@kitchenertfc.com with any questions.

The program is a national coach recruitment, development, and training project designed for women to address the challenges they face regarding soccer participation. It aims to recruit and support new, entry-level coaches beginning their Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education.

The program offers free access to the 4 Canada Soccer Grassroots Workshops:

  • Active Start
  • FUNdamentals
  • Learn to Train
  • Soccer for Life

Each workshop has two components: an online module and an in-person practical workshop. Each participant can choose to complete 1 or multiple workshops.

Online Modules:

Recruited coaches will begin or continue their grassroots coach education, gaining FREE access to the four online modules for the 4 Grassroots workshops:

Active Start, FUNdamentals, Learn to Train and Soccer for Life. Each module is approximately 90 minutes.

In-Person Practical:

After completing the online module, coaches will receive financial support to attend at least one in-person practical workshop and fulfill their soccer-specific coach education (e.g., the club will cover the cost of one workshop per participating coach). In person practical is approximately 90 minutes.

Coaches will be encouraged to attend an in-person workshop that best fits their schedule and location (e.g., hosted by their club, district, etc.), or they may choose to participate in their Regional Coach Education Weekend, hosted and delivered by their Provincial Territorial Sport Organization.

All coaches will also begin or continue their Canada Soccer Safe Sport roster requirements.

  • NCCP Making Headway in Sport (45 mins)
  • NCCP Emergency Action Plan (15 mins)
  • NCCP Understanding the Rule of Two (15 mins)

Through the club’s financial support (i.e., reimbursement), coaches will receive free access to the following training modules:

  • NCCP Make Ethical Decisions (MED) (self paced course or 3 hour Zoom or in person)
  • Respect in Sport (RiS) Activity Leader Modul (90 mins)
