Position Summary:

The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overseeing the leadership, strategic direction, financial health, and operational success of KSC and KTFC by fostering an engaged community. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will oversee and streamline the club’s daily operations, partnerships, and program development while ensuring the club achieves its mission and mandate.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategic Planning

●      Lead the club in the preparation of the 3–5-year strategic plan to support long-term growth.

●      Act as the primary liaison between the Board, administrative team, coaches, volunteers and community partners.

●      Uphold and promote the 7 pillars as the basis for building a strong, reputable club.

●      Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set priorities and implement policies. 

●      Provide regular updates and reports on organizational performance.

●      Lead and manage the administrative team, coaches and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

●      Support Board and administrative development, including recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and dismissals while adhering to relevant employment laws and ethical standards.

Financial & Administrative Management

●      Maintain fiscal control, administer funds according to the approved budget set by the Board of Directors.

●      Oversee the club’s budget, financial planning, and resource allocation.

●      Manage the club’s insurance and equipment policies, sponsorships, and grant applications.

●      Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements and represents the club at the CSA, OS, and SWRSA.

Operations & Program Development

●      Ensure smooth execution of all youth recreational and competitive programs and services.

●      Work closely with Ontario/Canada Soccer to maintain compliance and accreditation.

●      Manage facility relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and regulators within the Kitchener municipality.

Fundraising & Community Engagement

●      Oversee all fundraising revenues, expenses, and ventures through strategic initiatives.

●      Act as spokesperson and advocate for the club’s mission.

●      Strengthen partnerships with funders, government agencies including municipal leaders and parent/community organizations.

●      Promote public awareness and engagement through marketing, media and outreach efforts to grow memberships.

●      Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

●      Bachelor’s degree in Sport/Recreation Management or equivalent experience.

●      Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or related sector.

●      Proficient with the FIFA, SCA, OS policies and club operations 

●      Relevant financial, marketing, public relations and project management experience to take a lead on managing budgets, fundraising initiatives, sponsorships and oversee all public events.

●      Proven ability to lead teams, build partnerships, and drive strategic growth.

●      Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
