JOIN US FOR OUR WINTER FOOD DRIVE
Our Annual Food Drive kicks off on November 18th and runs through December 5th, 2024. Each year, we collect thousands of canned and non-perishable goods to support our community through The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of those in our community!
We love a little friendly competition in everything we do! A pizza party will be awarded to both the house league team and the competitive team that donates the most food items.
*Important Rules:*
- No bags will be accepted.
- Each donation must be in a labelled, un-taped box.
- Labels must include:
- Your team name
- Total number of items in each box
- Unlabeled boxes will be accepted but will not count toward a team’s total.
- Each box must not exceed 50 lbs.
Donations can be dropped off at the Kitchener SC office during office hours (9 AM – 4 PM, Monday to Friday) or left with the city attendant at the Budd Park indoor dome field office. Donations will not be accepted after December 5th.
This year, the Food Bank has highlighted some high-need items, including:
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Canned meats and fish
- Dry beans and pasta
- Hot and cold cereal
- Individually packed snacks (granola bars, apple sauce, pudding cups)
- Jam/fruit spread
- Pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
- Rice
While food is their top priority, they also welcome unopened bags of pet food and non-food items such as personal care products, hygiene items, and cleaning supplies.
